Long time, no post. Still making progress on my Ork Boyz and eight Kans.
Here is a shot of Frank. And yes, thats Khorne parts under him, and also doubling as his pack.

Grot bases
Paul demanded I put up more shots of my Grots and their broken plascrete bases.
So like umm, here they are. Unfortunately the S6 is not at home so the photos are with my shitty old phone.

Killa Kan
Finally got more paint...or anti paint on Klanky, the first of the Kans for the Dread Mob.
So there he is. Still WIP. It may look a bit much on the rusted bases, but I figure this one is the bottom of the pile and bought out of 'deep storage' for Orks, which means they found it at the bottom of the trash.

Old stuff is good
I find as I do more work on weathering, that I really do love old decrepid decaying buildings. I also love rust, seeing how it forms, what it does, and the fantastic range of colours.
But that aside, more work on the Rhino, yes. Completed work on rust, smoke damage, lenses (first for me), and base coat on the tracks. Yes, the tracks are bone coloured, as my army is based on limestone/sand, and as such the tracks have been discoloured.
Weathering powders up next.

Vehicle weathering
These are my first attempts at weathering a vehicle. Thus far I done rust with some water marks, mainly on rivets and as of last night chipping.

A jump to the left
The progress continues. Continues to be drip fed onto the blog as well! Legs, tail plug and smoke stacks on!
I really like the soot effect I have on the top of the stacks. It is not as shiny in person as the picture makes you believe. It really is quite sooty and powdery.

Yet more body parts
A few more pieces of the Hound of Anubis finished. I must say I am really looking forward to the end of this bad boy. I love the model.

How is our beast coming along Herr Doktor
Well, I must say, I am very pleased thus far with our the Maulerfiend parts are coming along. All the different techniques I have tried and envisioned for this has worked, thus far.
I have nearly completed the neck and the two magma cutters. They need some tidying up, the top blue cell shading and the effect on the cutters. I am leaning towards red, orange, yellow on the tips of the cutter, like I did the power cables on the Terminator. Thoughts, suggestions, criticisms?

Thousand Sons Heldrake
And so it begins..
The dreaded helturkey painting starts. Given all the gilding it will have, doing it in pieces is going to be good for my sanity.
Here is a WIP of the neck. A few more layers of gold, washing and lots of touch ups to go. But you get the idea. I really like the red wash on the exposed neck tendons/pipes.

Space Wolves Terminators WIP
Nearly finished Dan's SW Terminators. Thought I would post up a WIP to brighten (?) up the site a bit.
Thank you to extreme dry brushing, which has made the claws look not bad.
What have you been doing recently hmm?

Advanced WIP shots
More work done on the gold/yellow layers of the entire model. Ignore any similarities on the horns, that just a base layer of XV-88 before it gets some brushing. Remember the sons will have Rubicrae head dresses not traditional marine helms.

Death Guard test models WIP
Here are the three lads at present. A lot of this has been new for me of course. Breaking away from my love affair with Quickshade and the magic it brings is hard.
Anyway I am trying new things and they still are not finished. Need a thinners coat then a very low burnt umber wash. Plus the bases of course.
I am happy with a few components. That rust effect, omfgwow. But also even the gun colour is more muted than the GC bolter paint I have used, so again happy there.
Not 100% happy with that white. I think maybe a white undercoat with a bone top coat would be better.
But either way all learning and testing!
I cant do more until my cough clears though :(
PS the wife did say they look a bit rubbish compared to some of the ratmen I had done (her words). I had to explain it was meant that way! Its hard to paint bad looking!
