Three, 3, three cultists now done.

It is a miracle I tell you.  With a fourth coming soon hot on the heels.
I tried to make the cloak on the cultist champion a direct copy of a IG/AM commissar one.  Not easy with that gold trim I tell you.

Metal gnashers ahoy.
Do not diss the symbol!

Cultist progression

Not the same cultist, but one of them. I pushed this one over the edge to test the scheme, and am happy with how he looks (or she...you never known under that mask).
I think they will look pretty good, especially once the cheerleader effect kicks in.

No one said anything about fuckin sand!
Sand gets everywhere, and I mean, every where.

Long time, no post, come to chaos

Working on my Black Legion cultists.  I think I have thrown more of these guys in the vat of ichor (aka simple green) than I have painted, but I am getting there with their scheme.
Really happy with this guys pants, however I dont want to be in them.

BASES!!!

Well I finally got the motivation to get my bases done. 100 odd in one batch. I managed to get the scheme looking the same as the last batch I did too, so pretty happy.

I still have 1 lot of bases to go, as they haven't arrived yet.

The models and bases are a bit on the glossy side as the next step is transfers and weathering.

IH WIP - Gorgon test

As promised here is the first Gorgon!

More IH WIP - test Immortal

So I've finished one Immortal, probably could have been tidier with the black and done more layers, but meh, the rough beaten look really suits Iron Hands, especially considering the force is post Isvaan.

Almost finished a Gorgon terminator as well so will hopefully have pics up tonight.

Iron Hands WIP

With all the random projects I have on my desk, I never got around to finishing the first 5 guys for my IH mkII project.

I finally did today, although I did forget how I painted the first 3 lol, but I figured it out in the end. I also added one white kneepad on each, as I like the way white contrasts with the black. I may add more white as I go up the ranks, in the form of  pads/stripes etc.

I can now paint something a bit more exciting, namely a Gorgon terminator and an IH Immortal. Such awesome models, I can't wait! The scheme should look totally awesome on those models also.

Klanky!

My Goff paint scheme now locked in, and now the method for all the vehicles (which you know, in a Dread Mob is a bit!).

First Kan off the new paint job rack, Klanky!

RAWR.
Buzz buzz cut cut.

IH WIP

So I have managed to replicate the IH scheme, very easily, so looks like I can finally get back to working on them!

At some point I am also going to paint a test rhino, to get the vehicle scheme sussed. Seeing as I have a Felblade, Spartan, Armoured Proteus, Venator, and Deimos Rhino to paint, this will be awesome.

New IH scheme test model #2

So I wasn't super happy with the last attempt so I did another one with less black in the grey. I like it a lot, and very quick and easy too. I was impatient and fucked up the wash on the chest a bit but thats easy to fix. I may also add some chipped paint to the elbows.

I can do all my normal troops like this, and bling the models up more the higher they are in the chain of command.

I have pretty much my whole IH army currently soaking in simple green so will clean them in batches of 5 and try alternating between painting them, my Mech, and my Necrons. That should keep me motivated, instead of painting pretty much the same model over and over.

Oh and I also refined my Necron scheme a bit. Made the gold actually gold not bronze, and also made the energy effect look more like my Mech weapons since I think its really effective. This is at the same stage as my Mech guys, ready for transfers/weathering, although I'm not sure I want to use any transfers on Necrons.

New IH scheme test model

So I also decided to try the scheme on my IHs, as I'm not having much joy with my UMs. Works pretty well. Think I went overboard on the wash though, as the metal is darker than I would like. Then again, post Istvaan IHs would be fairly battered, and the dark metal, chipped paint and dirty/rusty armour all work towards that theme.

Necron test model

So I tried "The Method" on a Necron Immortal, and it is definitely gonna work for a Necron army. The turquoise needs to be toned down with weathering powders but apart from that very happy! There is bronze on there, as I didn't want to go over the top with bling and use gold. It is hard to see however due to my shitty photos.

Ultramarines test model

So I have been on an Ultramarines buzz last few days as I want an allied Space Marine chapter for my Cult Mech, and I have always meant to do some smurfs.

I tried painting a test model using the same method used for the Cult Mech, and using the same green lenses etc and the same red to tie them in with the allied force. The model is up to the same point as the Cult mech, pre-transfers/weathering.

I'm not 100% sold on it, I love the blue, just not sure about using the chipped armour method, or as Aaron calls it "The Method". Hopefully the weathering brings it home.

3rd Kataphron almost done.

As shown in my edit in my last post I decided to add more red to the lesser armoured Kataphron, as I felt they needed more. More later!

Edit :- Added a pic of all the models.
