Bases for Warriors of Chaos

Today I decided to try a couple of base ideas for my Warriors of Chaos.

This is what I ended up with. I used the normal cork bits along with snow made up of water effects and gw snow flock.

Test model for Warriors of Chaos

Today I decided to paint up one of my spare Juggernauts in the scheme I plan on using for my Blood Angels, as the red would work for both.

I have applied a base coat of a rust red coloured primer followed by highlights of Vallejo Bloody Red with the airbrush and then shadows using a mix of red and black paint also through the airbrush. To complete I airbrushed a watered down red over the whole model to blend it all together.

Here are some pics of what I ended up with.

Here is my first unit of completed Ogres.

Skulls for the Skull Throne!

OK so since my last post I've been thinking of alternate army lists and I recalled that Chaos Dwarves can be used in Warriors of Chaos lists.

There are certain guidelines in place, I would need to take a character and can take some warmachines as Rare choices.

If I take a Daemonsmith Sorcerer with the Fire lore and a dispel scroll, that would give me some much needed magic and magic defense, and then take a Deathshrieker Rocket Launcher and a Dreadquake Mortar as artillery which would give me some much needed ranged.

Blood for the Blood God!

The first army I bought when I got back into Warhammer was mono-Khorne Warriors of Chaos.

The other Chaos Gods just didn't interest me in the slightest. And the models just reinforced that.

As soon as I saw the Khorne Lord on Juggernaut I just had to buy it. Probably the coolest model of all time.

Mawsome - Initial Ogre list thoughts.

My Ogre list, that I am currently painting / building has never really been finalised in terms of what I would like to take to the field to test in the first few games.

I built my list and then looking around several forums to check my logic and give me some direction.

Here is where I am heading:

BA Sanguinary Priest.

This was a test model for painting white as I have 3 Sanguinary Priests in my BA army. Never did actually get around to painting the rest of that army however......

My World Eaters.

OK here are some really bad photos of my World Eaters.

First up is my Kharn conversion made using the jump pack Chaplain model and some FW stuff.

Too much crap!!!

Been moving all my crap into my new room and started sorting through my nerd gaming stuff.

Bloody hell, theres a fair bit lol.

And this isn't counting the models I have assembled and are ready for painting.

Now I need to find somewhere to put it all -_-

Brown boxes are FW and paints, obviously the rest is GW stuff.

Will try and get some shots of painted models later on today.

WIP shots of Dreaded 13th spell victims

With figures I am not using I still wanted to use them up if possible.  I thought about the idea of setting them aside to use as victims of the dreaded 13th spell.  I want to make them ghost like with red eyes and a different base to the rest of the army, perhaps all static grass.

What do you reckon about the green ghostliness on these?  So far its 4 layers of 3:1 green wash from Vallejo.

Background Fluff

This is the first part of the background fluff I have written for my clan.

A steely blue and red leather ball rolls across the stone floor, over a threshold, teeters precariously on a ledge before toppling down. The lop-sided old weathered steps cause the ball to bounce unpredictably, hindering Han's attempts at retrieval, causing a nasally whine to escape from the boys mouth, "awwwwwwwww".

The ball skids on the last step and veers off into the darkened room and judging for the sound hits a large wooden barrel before coming to a stop somewhere unseen. Shoulders slumping and continuing to sigh, Hans reaches knowingly up the wall, takes a lantern down and strikes the wick.

He knows he should not be in the creamery, especially this far down but surely it is not his fault that the doors were left open and that his ball was not behaving. His father however, the head Kasehersteller in Altdorf was not the forgiving kind and so Hans redoubled his efforts in searching for that damnable ball.

The lantern light slowly clears the oppressive gloom as Hans searches through the room. He nears the back and the waste whey pipes, catches a glimpse of red and blue just as the ball rolls into the darkness through a hole in the wall that the pipes pass through. With a resounding sigh he heaves his shoulders, and silently prays it does not block anything. He leaves the cellar but not before extinguishing the lantern and kicking the bottom step for good measure. He is sure it is nearing dinner time anyway, and the lost ball is swiftly forgotten.

Unbeknownst to Herr Kasehersteller there is a hole in his waste whey pipes. A small yet not inconsiderably breach has formed over the years and as it is between walls, has gone unnoticed. At least that is, unnoticed by man.

Skritskrit and his pack had been assigned yet another foraging run in the old tombs buried hundreds of feet below Altdorf. Forgotten heroes, fathers, brothers and many more lay in the cold earth far below the city they called home. If they knew what the vile Skaven were doing to their remains, they would roll in their graves, not to mention what their descendants would do if they heard of the atrocities being committed below their feet.

Sqatch chirped in delight as he removed a very well preserved Altdorf tabard from a jumble of bones, and proudly displayed it to the others. It was not until after the event he realised what a mistake that was, another rat would surely attempt to steal it off him in an attempt to be the first to offer such a quality piece to their seer. As if to answer his thoughts, a claw swats him into the wall and Skritskrit removed the cloth from the now limp Sqatch's paw.

Erupting nest of rat goodness

As you guys know, I have been trying to paint for three months now and have just finished my 24th figurine (which makes 25th ever).

Here are pictures of the latest batch.

First slaverat unit musician, Bob.

Latest batch of eight.

Ragged group shot centering on Bob the drama queen.

The first twenty four in all their glory!

Something Mawsome to start with

I thought I would start things off by putting up a few pics of the Ogres I have just completed for my upcoming Ogre Kingdoms lists.

Enjoy.
